What can you do with just 190 square feet? If you’re Ölelés, you turn it into a compact wonderland of cotton-candy pink, powder blue and unapologetic fun. The Malaysian sister duo behind the brand, Mia Chai and Baby Akiyo, wanted their pop-up store to feel bold, feminine and full of personality—just like their mission of helping women embrace their confidence and individuality with the right intimates and skincare products. With Stay Space at the helm, the result is a jaw-dropping design that’s as functional as it is fabulous with plenty of one-of-a-kind furniture that turns heads and sparks joy.

While the sisters already had a colour palette in mind for our team to work with, bringing to life the spirit of Ölelés still required careful planning. From the moment you step into Ölelés’ pop-up, you’re greeted by a visual feast of colours, curves and textures. The plush walls and wave-like shape of the shag carpets create an inviting, cosy vibe, while everything from the furniture to the decor is bursting with personality. Inspired by the natural curves of the body, we played with rounded shapes and rhythmic lines to create a space that’s alive with movement. It’s not just a design; it’s a mood. The whole space screams fun, yet manages to feel effortlessly chic and empowering—exactly what Ölelés is all about. Shopping for intimates doesn’t have to be boring or awkward—it can be cute, fun and totally stress-free!

But let’s talk about the real stars of the show: the furniture. Every single piece in this pop-up was custom-designed to not only look amazing but also to be super functional. The O-umlaut (Ö) is a motif we used often throughout the pop-up store alongside the brand colours of pink and blue to keep in line with the brand identity. The bespoke furniture play a huge role in showcasing the uniqueness of the brand with a gorgeous O-umlaut (Ö) shelf and rug arrangement in the shape of the letter that can be viewed aerially. The modular shelves arranged into the shape of the Ö in Ölelés are a clever nod to the brand’s logo and can be easily taken apart for use at future pop-ups, exhibitions, or wherever the brand decides to make its next splash. Practical, portable and oh-so-pretty—what’s not to love?

Then there’s the rotating letter display shelf, which is just chef’s kiss. This quirky installation literally spells out the brand name, one letter at a time, in glossy rosy-pink fibreglass. And it’s not just eye candy—it doubles as a functional shelf for small products, adding a playful, interactive element to the store. Talk about making the most of vertical space! It’s bold, it’s cute and it’s totally on-brand for Ölelés.

For a pop-up that’s only 190 square feet, every inch counts. The layout is designed to flow with rounded, rhythmic shapes that guide you through the space. It’s dynamic yet cosy, thanks to the plush textures and soft finishes. The O-umlaut shelves, playful furniture and wave-inspired elements create a visual rhythm that ties the whole space together.

It’s a cost-effective, forward-thinking approach that proves you can be bold and smart at the same time. To keep the vibe fun and fresh, the team used a mix of fibreglass and wood for the bespoke furniture. The glossy fibreglass gives that fun, candy-like finish, while the wood adds structure and durability. Together, they create a look that’s equal parts cute and practical—a match made in pop-up heaven.
